What I Learned This Week - 11/16/12

  1.  Every time I read or hear a "Black Friday" ad - a little voice in my head chimes in stating, "Thaaaat's racist".
  2. I am appreciative that my young dog can get my attention to attend to middle of the night emergencies, so I don't have to clean up a nasty mess. I just wish her method was something other than sitting on my face.
  3. I've given it several months and still don't understand the Japanese "Bagel-head" body mutation craze. Not even a little.
  4. Whenever one of my daughters puts any type of clothing on me, my immediate response to go into Buzz Lightyear mode, "See the hat? I'm Mrs. Nesbitt!"
  5. I have no desire to do the time warp again. Go ahead, jump to the left. I will not step to the right.
  6. My mind reels when I gaze over at the car next to me in traffic and the driver is already staring at me.
  7. With all the talk lately of adding Puerto Rico as the 51st, I think adding two more should be done so there are 53 states. 53 is a prime number, then there would be some truth to the claim, " One Nation...indivisible".
  8. I participated in my first "masters swim" practice this week and without reservation, I do not represent any portion of the words "masterful" or "swimming". "Flailing" and "not drowning" are probably more accurate. I am practicing though.
  9. I like the idea of having the Tetris theme played at my funeral as my coffin is lowered into the ground.
  10. After 40 some odd years, I am confident in stating that drug companies have absolutely no idea what fruit tastes like.
  11. Sadly, it is no longer the season to yell, "mosquito!" if you want to slap someone for no reason.
  12. I have no idea why the ERMAHGERD meme girl makes me laugh so hard.
  13. If you tell your hot-rod buddies that your car did the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs, they will stare at you blankly for a lot longer than you expect.
  14. My kids really don't like it when I state, "Set your phasers to FUN". Okay, besides me, no one really likes it.
  15. I actually like spending my days off with my wife doing "nothing really".
  16. There are few things in life as beautiful as a happy daughter.
