What I Learned This Week - 12/12/14

  1.  370 days until "Star Wars - the Force Awakens" (aka: Episode VII) is in theaters.
  2. According to my middle daughter girls have an equivalent to the bro code, "foods before dudes".
  3. "Deep-fried egg nog" is a thing.
  4. If you decorate a Darth Vader replica with holiday lights, its called a "Sithmas Tree".
  5. "Buffalo style chicken wing flavored ice cream" is a thing.
  6. Midnight bowling is more fun than I remember.
  7. When I'm encouraged by a waitress to make a selection because, "it's the best tasting thing here", and it tastes bland I won't likely try that restaurant again.
  8. In Germany, you can play Pong on the light post with a person on the other side of the street while waiting at a crosswalk for the signal to change.
  9. Researchers at the University of Wollongong in Australia are developing a bionic bra which has fibers that tighten up to restrain bounce when needed, but loosen when the breasts are stationary.
  10. The Dremel tool company now makes 3-D printers.
  11. When you have a head cold and work at an international airport, people will leave you alone if you tell them you may or may not have ebola.
  12. "Deep fried mash potatoes" are a thing. Apparently a creamy, delicious thing.
  13. I'm not the only one who believes that people driving around in cars like mine are my "buddies". Sometimes my "buddies" are jerks.
  14. The new ball droid in "Star Wars - the Force Awakens" is named "BB-8" - I pronounce it "buhbate" just to annoy people.
