What I Learned This Week - 11/6/15

  1.  41 days until "Star Wars - the Force Awakens" (aka: Episode VII) is in theaters. 
  2. Yamaha has designed a robot that can ride motorcycles.
  3. The latest trend for marathon runners is to post singles ads on their backs.
  4. It is possible to be allergic to water (actually it’s a skin disease and not called “drowning”).
  5. According to my oldest, “Typhoid” is a STD.
  6. “Rickrolling” is still a thing.
  7. The “Apple Command key” (technically called the “looped square”) is actually an ancient symbol that marked places of interest.
  8. Shooting a quadcopter out of the sky with a pumpkin cannon is as amazing as it sounds.
  9. There is a plausible theory that establishes Jar-Jar Binks as a Master Sith Lord and possible creator of the Knight of Ren in the upcoming movie. 
  10. “Chicken Agility Competition” is a thing. #LosersGoToKFC
  11. The US Media and people they interview do not understand the actual meaning of “countless”.
  12. The older I get, the more fearful I become of the statement, “Father Time is undefeated”.
  13. Since Grover Cleveland served as our 22nd and 24th president, President Obama is technically the 43rd person to be president, not the 44th.
  14. Best sign on the coffee machine at work this week, “Good bye boiled water…you’ll be mist”.
  15. Sitting with your legs wide apart on public transportation is known as “manspreading” and is an official Oxford Dictionary word.
