What I Learned This Week - 2/26/16

  1.  557 days until Star Wars - Episode VIII is in theaters. 
  2. My oldest makes a pretty good case for keeping this list going.
  3. The Love, Sweat & Gears 4-woman cycling team, that I was a crew member for, will get the “Perseverance Award” by the Sportswomen of Colorado Hall of Fame. #PrettyCool
  4. According to my kids, a “juggersnot” is a giant impending sneeze that you can’t control.
  5. The traditional white Chinese takeout boxes fold out into a plate.
  6. The current world record for solving a Rubik’s cube is 4.904 seconds by a 14-yr old boy.
  7. No matter how much I try, I cannot “force-fetch” the TV remote from one side of the couch to my hand.
  8. I have not trained my lab to retrieve the remote because I’ve seen the end result of her tennis ball fetches. 
  9. According to my middle child, a video of a cat riding a tortoise is the “most amazing thing in the world and she can now die”. #JustWaitUntilCollege
  10. I have now entered the stage in my life where my kids are teaching me techie things. #sadface
  11. If you snapchat your teen(s) random pictures of the floor and ceiling it will ruin their day.
  12. You can ruin a teen’s day by playing dumb while they teach you techie things. #OldGuysRule
  13. According to my teens, it is now socially acceptable to refer to someone as “your spirit animal”.
  14. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the following words/phrases have been around for only 40 years: Beer Gut, Bollywood, startup, Hacker, PMS, Ebola, the zone, free weight,  meme, endorphin, download and jazzercise….to name a few.
  15. The fear of aetheists or aetheism is called, “Atheophobia”.
  16. Sometimes a snoring dog is the best sound in the world.
