What I Learned This Week - 3/8/13

  1.  If Karma exists, it sure misses some pretty obvious situations/people. I am fortunate to have flown under the radar so far.
  2. I look good in pink - according to an unsolicited poll of nine coworkers.
  3. Due to peer pressure from friends, family, sporting events, health-care facilities and schools - my family has entered the 1990’s by adding text messaging to all our phones. As I suspected, I wasn’t missing a thing.
  4. The voice recognition on my phone works WAY better for texting than it does any other form of communication or searching. That confuses me.
  5. I’d like to know what the sequence of events for the first negotiations where that resulted in binding pact by the intertwining of the smallest digits on one’s hand.
  6. Scientists discovered that your breath can reveal certain forms of stomach cancer.
  7. Carrie Fisher is slated to play Princess Leia in the next Star Wars movie. After reading several stories recently about her difficulties with being bipolar, I am wondering who thought it was a good idea.
  8. Whenever our local gas station has lines for gas, I have the uncanny ability to get in line behind the one person that has NEVER used a gas pump before.
  9. Finding Nemo would have been a completely different movie if the voice of Nemo's Dad, Marlin, was performed by Liam Neeson.
  10. Whenever I open a website the spawns a tab that plays a video or music I become Liam Neeson, "I don't know who you are but I will find you and I will....."
  11. It's amazing how annoying somebody can be in 140 characters or less.
  12. My oldest daughter has the bad habit of putting her phone on silent and then misplacing it.
  13. The position of your eyebrows changes the context of just about any conversation.
  14. Irony has a new definition, Gary Kremen, the founder of Match.com, lost his girlfriend to a guy she met on Match.com.
  15. I have a special e-mail or letter signature line that, for some reason, I only use on family and close friends. It came from a Calvin and Hobbes book given to me by a college friend - who circled the comic with the words in it. I don't add the lip prints though.
  16. This video has made me laugh too many times this week. I don't know why the guy in the back makes me laugh.  http://bit.ly/10nMDMC
  17. You use your big toe WAY more than you think.
