What I Learned This Week - 11/28/14

  1.  384 days until Star Wars the Force Awakens (aka: Episode VII) is in theaters.
  2. There is a special feeling of regret when you mistype the url-shortening service "bitly.com" as "butly.com" and hit enter. Thank you Google safe-search.
  3. The Pronghorn Antelope if the US west are not a member of the antelope family - they are actually more closely related to the giraffe family.
  4. From 1781 to 1850, the planet Uranus was known as "George". Named after King George III by discoverer William Herschel.
  5. I had forgotten that Mr.T had a cereal.
  6. Some people will break urinal proximity rules because, “it’s funny”.
  7. Everyone should play kickball at least once a year.
  8. The official snack of a community kickball tournament is bread.
  9. The “Wilhelm Scream” is a throwaway sound bite that had inauspicious beginnings and was revived in the 1970s and made into the best movie in-joke. Ever.
  10. Lance Armstrong recently failed in attempting the “Beer Mile” which makes me happier than it should.
  11. "Gravy pops" are a thing.
  12. My middle daughter makes a ridiculously good coffee bread.
  13. Stratego is the official game of Thanksgiving.
  14.  Creamed corn can be ridiculously good.
  15. Don't park next to the car with 2,000 rubber ducks glued to the outside.
  16. My oldest daughter will run from any corner of the house, just to see Orlando Bloom's 2 second cameo in the new Lord of the Rings commercial.
  17. My two youngest daughters have figured out screaming, "LEGOLAS!!" will bring the oldest from anywhere in the house to disappointedly  help with chores.
  18. Some people are more excited about my reaction to new Star Wars commercials/movie than the movie itself. I find that funny.
  19. I am spoiled rotten with loving family and friends.
