What I Learned This Week - 1/9/15

  1.  342 days until "Star Wars - the Force Awakens" (aka: Episode VII) is in theaters.
  2. Best t-shirt in the airport this week donned an image of Frodo Baggins holding a notebook, eating a large piece of bread while sitting on Molly Ringwald’s lap. The caption read, “Second Breakfast Club”. Apparently Judd Nelson still didn’t bring lunch.
  3. “Zombie-proofing homes” is now a billion dollar industry.
  4. You know a nerd fight is about to go down in the office when you hear, “I hate you more than Internet Explorer”.
  5. The New Year’s joke, “I haven’t seen you since last year” is funny exactly three times……in a lifetime.
  6. My kids and I abuse #5 by a factor of 11 every year.
  7. My children have not inherited my single eyebrow raise or quick double smile abilities. Their attempts to mimic me result in laughter. Always.
  8. It is very difficult to maintain composure when one of your kids stumble upon an inside joke that is shared only between with your spouse. The look of horror on the child’s face is priceless.
  9. The monkey, Boots, from "Dora the Explorer" fame - is a girl.
  10. Scientists have discovered that the herring use their butt vapors to communicate.
  11. The iTypwriter is specifically made for hispters…..and 86 year old women that frequent my airport.
  12. It's going to be a good day when you get a high-five from a Stormtrooper.
  13. Nike confirmed it will sell official Marty McFly's self-tying power lace trainers before the end of the year. No word on price.
  14. No, after living in Colorado for over 20 years, I still don't understand why every snow event catches people off guard and completely stops all traffic.
  15. "Cyclophobia" is the fear of bicycles.
  16. Yoshi's full name is "T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas."
