What I Learned This Week - 7/6/18

  1.  532 days until Star Wars Episode IX is in theaters.
  2. The Mars Rover basically runs on Linux.
  3. According to my dog, sometimes you have to spin in circles to really appreciate what’s around you. #truth
  4. Spain actually has cereal bars – restaurants where only breakfast cereal is served. #PBCapnCrunchOrBust
  5. If you take a photo of a Mars candy bar on top of a Milyway candy bar and post that photo to an astrophotography forum, you will get banned from the forum. #ItWasAGoodPhoto
  6. People who get hit by lightning typically die of cardiac arrest and not shock. #KnowCPR
  7. Accidently texting someone via butt-dial is known as “SatChat”. #maybe
  8. It has taken some people over fourteen years to realize that the eldest daughter in the Incredibles is named after the resulting color combination of Mom and Dad’s super suits. #RedPlusBlueEqualsViolet
  9. People have no idea how out of touch with reality they are until they actually measure a serving size of peanut butter. #WaitTHATsIT
  10. I will never understand the awe of being able to see something on earth from space, when the item in space is clearly visible from earth. #WhyCouldntItSeeIt #OMGItsSmoke
  11. With all the outrage on the influences of everyday things on children, I’m surprised that duck-duck-goose hasn’t been banned because it encourages the development of the hit-and-run mentality. #safe

  14. According to a coworker, the worst thing about parallel parking in downtown Denver is all the witnesses. #ThatWillBuffOut
  15. Apparently, I’m in the minority that believes walking two energetic dogs on separate leashes is a faithful reenactment of the pod-racing scene in Star Wars – The Phantom Menace. #ItsWorking
  16. The average smartphone today has approximately 3700x more processing power than the computer Jeff Goldblum used to hack the alien mothership in the movie Independence Day. #WelcomeToEarth

  18. No one in my house appreciates my reference to cutting up sweet potatoes as, “the silencing of the yams”.
